Designed to anticipate future advances in technology, Tateuchi Center is a plug-and-play building. Our design team developed a plan that blends the best aspects of traditional theatre design with the most visionary thinking about audience participation and technology. The final design was informed by a unique charette process involving performing arts professionals from across the country. Tateuchi Center’s ability to offer experiences ranging from a dance class to a black-tie evening at the opera to a night out at a blues club is built right into the architecture. Technical innovations include advanced acoustic management, broadcast capabilities, fiber-optic signal processing, universal connectivity, energy efficiency, and environmentally “green” materials and practices.
